Ocean Winds is starting public consultation phase for its bottom-fixed offshore wind project: Réalt na Mara (previously called-Cailleach Offshore Wind Farm) which holds an estimated capacity of up to 1,600 MW. Réalt na Mara is located off the coasts of County Dublin and County Wicklow.
Offshore wind developer Ocean Winds said Monday it is evaluating the expansion of its global offshore wind portfolio (1.5GW in construction and 4GW in development) to include Ireland. The company, formed last year as a 50-50 joint venture between EDP Renewables and Engie, has established Cailleach Offshore Wind Farm, a project delivery company that has submitted a Foreshore Application Licence Application to undertake site investigations for the potential development of an offshore wind farm 13km from the shore at Co.
