Réalt na Mara launched for public participation

Ocean Winds, an international offshore wind energy company created by EDP Renewables (EDPR) and ENGIE (50:50), announced in 2021, its interest for offshore wind opportunities in Ireland. Ireland has excellent renewable resources, and Ocean Winds’ background, expertise, strength, and experience should allow the Irish economy to make best use of this potential.

On its path to generate low-cost clean energy at a large scale for Ireland’s residents, Ocean Winds is starting public consultation phase for its bottom-fixed offshore wind project: Réalt na Mara (previously called-Cailleach Offshore Wind Farm) which holds an estimated capacity of up to 1,600 MW. Réalt na Mara is located off the coasts of County Dublin and County Wicklow.

Ocean Winds is committed to meaningful public consultation to inform its work in developing an offshore wind farm at Réalt na Mara and is looking forward to receiving comments and questions from all stakeholders. A dedicated website will be launched, and local meetings will be arranged.
